Support the Project:

Help us grow, connect & create resources that make a difference.

Become a Caring Conversations hero:

The Caring Conversations Project was created with a simple purpose:

To strengthen support for professionals, individuals and families navigating complex or uncertain health journeys and to contribute to meaningful improvements in how care conversations happen across New Zealand.

The Caring Conversations Project is an independent, founder-led initiative and is not a registered charity.

We believe good care is about more than treatments and services. It is also about how people are listened to, how information is shared, how difficult conversations are approached, and whether individuals and families feel informed, respected and included along the way.

Our work is guided by compassion, connection, collaboration, equity, honesty and shared understanding.

We bring together professional knowledge, lived experience and real-world perspectives to create practical resources that make challenging topics easier to understand and talk about.

What your support helps make possible:

The Project is growing slowly and with purpose, focusing on resources and support that are genuinely useful to the people they are designed for.

Financial support helps cover the practical costs involved in developing and sharing this work, including:

  • developing, reviewing and improving new resources

  • website, digital platforms and publishing costs

  • design, printing and accessibility

  • professional, cultural and specialist review where needed

  • keeping selected resources freely available

  • community engagement, feedback and resource testing

  • future learning opportunities, events and collaborative projects

It also gives the Project more capacity to respond to the ideas and needs raised by the people who use the resources.

If you value what we're building, there are several ways you can help support the Project.

Make a one-off contribution:

A one-off contribution helps with resource development, website and publishing costs, printing for community events, and keeping free information available.

Whether it's the cost of a coffee or something more, every contribution helps the Project grow sustainably.

Give regular support:

If you'd like to support the Project on an ongoing basis, you can choose to make a recurring monthly contribution.

Regular support helps provide a little more certainty as the Project grows, making it easier to develop new resources, keep information accessible and plan what's next.

The Caring Conversations Project is not currently a registered charity. Contributions are voluntary gifts to support the ongoing work of the Project and are not eligible for the New Zealand donation tax credit.

Contributions help cover the costs of creating, improving and sharing Caring Conversations Project resources, along with website, printing and project running costs. We are independent and is not a registered charity, so contributions are not eligible for a charitable donation tax credit.

We also warmly welcome larger contributions from individuals, families, businesses and organisations who would like to support a particular resource, project or area of work.

Your support could help fund the development, design, printing or distribution of a new resource, make an existing resource freely available to more people, or help bring a larger idea to life.

If you're considering a significant contribution or would like your support to go towards something specific, we'd love to hear from you and discuss what might be possible.

You can support the Project in other ways:

Supporting the Project does not have to mean contributing financially.

You can also help by:

  • sharing resources

  • joining the community

  • reading and sharing our articles

  • providing feedback

  • testing new resources

  • taking part in future focus groups

  • or simply helping open up conversations that are often avoided

Different perspectives are an important part of this work. Individuals, families and professionals all bring valuable knowledge and experience, and the Project aims to create opportunities for those perspectives to come together.

Help shape what comes next:

The Caring Conversations Project is continuing to grow, shaped by what people find helpful, the questions that keep coming up, and where clearer information or better conversations could make things a little easier.

Whether you contribute, share our work, get involved, or simply follow along, you are helping the Project reach more people.
