For Health and Care Professionals:
Resources and support for communication, collaborative care and professional wellbeing.
Supporting Better Conversations in Care:
The conversations health and care professionals have with individuals and families can shape how informed, supported and involved they feel throughout their care.
The Caring Conversations Project brings together practical guidance, professional experience and thoughtful resources to help you approach difficult conversations with greater clarity, confidence and compassion.
“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand, they listen with the intent to reply”
How the Caring Conversations Project supports practice:
We focus on the human side of care - the conversations, relationships and shared understanding that can make a significant difference to how care is experienced.
Drawing on real-world clinical experience, current evidence and lived experience, the Project creates practical, accessible resources for health and care professionals. These resources are designed to support clearer communication, meaningful collaboration with people and their families, and more thoughtful approaches to complex or difficult conversations.
Our aim is to make useful, compassionate support easy to access and practical to apply. We also recognise that good care includes caring for the people who provide it, with professional wellbeing and the emotional impact of care forming an important part of the project’s focus.
